J. Herbin Brause Calligraphy and Writing Set (Nib Holder & Nibs)

Brause has been manufacturing steel nibs in Germany since 1850 and is a favorite of professional and student calligraphers alike. This set includes 6 of their most popular nibs and a natural wood nib holder. A great gift for any budding or advanced calligrapher!

Copperplate & Script

• Pfannen: a nickel-plated nib with a wide point that is great for monoline lettering
• Index: simple and precise, ideal for monoline lettering. It has a medium fine point and can store a large reserve of ink
• Cito Fein: an excellent beginner writing nib, very soft. It is suitable for cursive writing
• Steno: a sharp and indented nib in blued steel, the flexibility of which is ideal for English
• Rose: a hard steel nib with a rose engraved on the top (hence the name), suitable for script writing
• L'ecolier: simple, thin and flexible, perfect for writing, drawing and calligraphy

Latin Calligraphy

• The Bandzug nib is a palette nib (or ornamental nib). It is metallic with a square point.
• Ideal nib for performing Latin calligraphy (Unciale, Caroline, Chancelière, Ronde).
• By the sharpness of its angles and the precision of its hairlines, it gives incomparable Gothic letters.
